Do
you have quilt tops "hidden" in drawers, closets, and
boxes? Do you feel guilty about all the time and money spent piecing
those tops? If you are like me and many other quilters, you probably
answered yes to all of those questions. I CAN HELP, but first let me
tell you a little about myself. (You may click the photo for a
closer look.)
I
have been involved in sewing my entire life. As a child I made doll
blankets and clothes - my first sewing machine was a hand turned
child's Singer machine with a chain stitch- my mother was afraid I
would "sew my finger"! By thirteen I took my first sewing
machine lesson and graduated to my mothers Kenmore - with a knee
pedal instead of a floor pedal - she was still worried about my
fingers. I did finally manage to sew my finger many years later -
but that's another story. Over the years I was never without a
sewing machine and I currently own 3 vintage Singers, my mothers
Kenmore, Bernina Quilters Edition and a Brother embroidery machine.
I love to machine piece; hand appliqué, machine appliqué and
machine embroider quilts. I have hand-quilted tops in lap hoops and
in large floor frames. I have machine-quilted tops with my Bernina
however this is not an easy thing to do with a regular sewing
machine. When we moved from our home of 30 years reality hit - I
found pieced tops that I had forgotten I had made.
Frustrated,
my husband and I decided to purchase a commercial quilting machine.
We researched the many different models available - long arm, short
arm, conversion plans for regular sewing machine and the
manufactures of these machines. We finally decided on the APQS
Millennium.
I
spent many hours quilting those tops, perfecting my techniques and
developing my style. Those tops have now been completed and are
happy in their new homes - finally appreciated.
I
can finish those tops for you! I have allover patterns for quilts
that will be utilized frequently, and an extensive library of
patterns that can be adapted for that special quilt.
Do
you have a quilting pattern in mind - email
me your ideas! I utilize
EQ5, a quilt design program, to aid with the drawing and sizing of
your design ideas to make your quilt unique.
